Kitten Season

Hearts Alive Village is responsible for supporting thousands of newborn kittens, many of whom require around the clock care. Newborn kittens are one of the most at-risk shelter pets and your support can help make an impact on their quality of life.

Founded in 2013, Hearts Alive Village’s mission is to nurture a compassionate society where pets are supported in their homes and on their journey to find new homes.

Hearts Alive Village offers a variety of services to the Southern Nevada community including:

For over three years, Hearts Alive Village’s advanced veterinary forensics program has played a critical role in more than 250 animal cruelty investigations. While approximately 80% of these cases involved deceased animals, our program has also provided essential support to many live victims.

One such survivor is Gene, a pit bull who suffered severe abuse resulting in blindness. With the assistance of a specialty surgeon in another state, our team was able to restore partial vision to one of Gene’s eyes, significantly improving his quality of life.

Another remarkable case is Chowder, a husky who arrived at our facility unable to walk, likely due to an untreated infection affecting his spine or prostate. Through a comprehensive treatment plan, including acupuncture, swim therapy, laser therapy, and pain management, Chowder is now almost fully ambulatory, with his strength improving daily. His progress is a testament to the power of dedicated veterinary care and rehabilitation.

Thank you for helping us give all of these animals a fair shot at justice and, for the lucky ones, a chance to heal and thrive.

At our organization, we believe that every adoptable pet deserves a loving family. We are dedicated to making this dream a reality. Whether you are considering adoption or simply wish to spend some quality time with our furry friends, your support is invaluable. It enables us to continue our mission and demonstrate the love and companionship that each pet has to offer. Visit us at: 286 W Lake Mead Pkwy Henderson, NV 89015 We are open every day from 10 AM to 6 PM.

Every year, we support thousands of cats at our Cat Cafe. Many of these cats are new-born kittens, who require specialized treatment including bottle feeding and special kitten formula. In addition to providing medical treatment for these cats, we help them find new homes and rescue nearly 1,000 cats per year.

We also offer events throughout the year including yoga, sound baths & movie nights.

Come pay our cats a visit and find your new best friend!

Sponsor a Dog at the HAV ReTreat: A Home Between Homes

The Hearts Alive Village ReTreat can house up to 30 dogs at a time until we place them with loving families of their own. We feed them, care for them and keep them happy while they wait to be adopted.

With your gift, we can help animals recover from a stressful shelter experience or heartbreaking life change. Any amount is welcome!

We can provide pet food and other items (depending on availability) to help out during difficult times on a temporary supplemental basis. Our goal is to keep families together by lending a helping hand. If you or someone you know needs help feeding their pet, please click here to apply for our food subsidy program.

One of Our Most Rewarding Programs

All too often, veterans return from military service with physical, emotional and psychological challenges. But studies have shown that animal companions can help them cope and work through their difficulties.

HAV has established our Charlie Mike program as a resource for Veteran Affairs case managers who are working to help struggling vets.
Types of support we offer:

It’s a win/win situation:

Pets who were destined to lose their lives in a shelter are being placed in loving homes with veterans. Veterans who were struggling to keep their pets can avoid having to place them in a shelter. The best part? The truly awesome impact we’ve seen in the lives of the veterans we’ve helped.
