Give Adoptable Dogs a Leg Up

with a new Doggy Play Yard

Dogs need to exercise. They need play time. They need enrichment.

While we do our best to find a foster home for every pup in our care, sometimes, we’ve got to put them up for a while at our facility. This allows time to provide any necessary medical treatment and to locate the perfect foster home for their individual situation.

Our kennels are spacious and provide plenty of room for dogs to stretch and roam, but it’s the time these fur babies spend outside that really matters.

Our program pups love their play sessions with enrichment staff and volunteers. Whether they are tossing the ball, learning new tricks, or just giving kisses, this time means the world to them right now. Unfortunately, our current play yard leaves much to be desired. A gravel-covered space with temporary chain fencing provides some room for them to run, but we know we can do better.

The Canine Construction Zone

The plans are drawn up and construction is now under way. With two large dog areas and three small, our new Doggy Play Yard will feature grassy space, shaded structures, bone shaped pools and plenty of room for a fun game of fetch or tug.

Under the supervision of trained monitors, dogs will also have the opportunity to socialize with other programs pups who match their energy. When the dogs return to their kennels after play time, they’ll be tuckered out and ready for a good nap!

Research has proven what we’ve known all along: shelter dogs who get more exercise and time outside the kennel, more interaction with humans, and more socialization with other dogs, are adopted faster and stay in their homes more often.

We want to give these babies a leg up on finding a home and a family to call their very own. And you can help…

Help Us Build Our Doggy Play Yard

We already own the lot, but the materials and labor will cost approximately $40,000. This includes the grading, plumbing, irrigation, fencing, shade structures, and more. When you donate today, you’ll be helping to create a space that will bring joy to shelter dogs for years to come.

Thank you for helping us make this dream play yard a reality.
