Jennifer Lewis spent nearly an hour searching for help after her pet Pomeranian was hit by a truck. The unemployed, single mother of four couldn’t afford the cost of a veterinarian.
“I was desperate. I needed help. I didn’t know what to do,” Lewis said.

June is Adopt-A-Cat Month. The month brings attention to the thousands of kittens born each year who join the millions of cats already in animal shelters and rescues across the U.S.

2020 marks the 45th annual Adopt-A-Cat Month and is encouraging animal lovers to adopt a “pandemic pet.” The event also coincides with “kitten season.”
