Ashley Nottingham

Canine Foster Coordinator & Event Support

Hearts Alive Village welcomes our newest member, Ashley Nottingham, into the role of Canine Foster Coordinator. Nottingham hails from back East, a graduate of Penn State’s College of Communications. Nottingham has had a passion for animals ever since she was a little kid. She grew up rescuing all sorts of critters that crossed her path, obsessed over her dog encyclopedia, and got involved with animal rescue at a young age. There may even be a photo of her buried in the back of a car with donations for her local animal shelter instead of wanting birthday presents. That love for animals and nature transcended into adulthood. Nottingham spent many years working in a variety of Park Ranger and public lands roles. She has also used her unique skill set to pivot into media roles such as a Marketing Communications Specialist for Penn State and a Visual Information Specialist for The National Park Service.

In addition to Nottingham’s work, she is passionate about being an ally and advocate to under-represented audiences in the BIPOC, LGBTQ+, and disability communities. She comes from her most recent project of working on the Southern Nevada Agency Partnership Engaging Communities project. In her free time, she has spent the last few years advocating for euthanasia-listed dogs, doing a little TNR, fostering mama cats, litters of kittens and medical kitties, fostering dogs, networking with fosters, adopters, and rescues, and fundraising. She is excited and eager to take on her new role with Hearts Alive Village.
